I had the most very nice experience staying at a hidden gem in Nagoya. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted by the warm and friendly third generation proprietor, Hiroshi Sato. The ryokan itself was a fusion of traditional Japanese design and modern elegance, beautifully captured by Mr. Sato's extraordinary sense of style. The room I stayed in was one of the fantastic suites, complete with luxurious amenities such as a mini-frig, upscale coffee machine, and Villeroy & Boch mugs. The communal area was also well-equipped with self-serve Japanese plates and complimentary coffee and tea. One standout feature was the traditional Japanese bath house, offering a authentic experience. The meals prepared by Mr. Sato and his talented wife were amazing, showcasing local delicacies. As a parting gift, Mr. Sato surprised me with home-baked mini-cookies and a bag of local snacks. I had an enjoyable and lovely stay at this ryokan.

What a hidden gem! I had an amazing experience during my Thanksgiving stay here. they provided complimentary drinks and toiletries which was great. The location was also perfect, just a few steps away from restaurants and shops. Additionally, the quiet surroundings and peaceful ambiance made it easy to relax and unwind. I also loved the traditional Japanese garden - it was a nice addition to the overall charm of the place.
I really had a wonderful time during my stay, but the only downside was the lack of English signage which made it a little challenging to navigate around the area. However, this was a minor inconvenience, and the helpful staff made up for it.
